WHEELCHAIR AND SPECIAL OLYMPICS  IS A SUCCESS

37 adult participants 33 children were involved in this year's Wheelchair and Special Olympics Workshop at Sadili Oval on the 9th and 10th July. The workshop, was run by Malezi College Department of Sports Science, Recreation and Physical Education together with Sadili Oval. The activities invloved training in sports for the disabled, including chess, goal ball and football, as well as fun activities. Wheelchair basketball, which has been sucessfully introduced in Kenya a few years ago by the Kenya Wheelchair Basketball Federation, was a well-attended workshop, but what attracted many was the Wheelchair Tennis, which is still at the early stages of inception and having been introduced to Kenya two years ago by Dan James (USTA) and Geoff Norton (PTR) in another workshop at Sadili 2006
